DENTAL TECHNOLOGIES
Here are some of our dental technologies and what they can do for you.
Digital Radiography offers the benefit of less than one quarter the radiation exposure of conventional radiology. This means if four bitewing x-rays are taken during a routine cleaning, our patients are exposed to only the equivalent of one. Also our patients experience less exposure because of the reduced need for retakes. This is due to the elimination of all processing errors and the ability to digitally alter the film to produce the desired image without retakes. All this adds up to a healthier environment for our patients.
Intraoral Cameras are a wonderful educational tool for our patients. It allows the patient to clearly see hard to reach plaque or tarter build up, gum recession or teeth that may need attention. It also allows our patients to view areas of improvement and good home hygiene. Overall it allows our patients the ability to become more involved in their dental health and increase their ability to maintain long term oral health.
Computer Imaging is a process we use to manipulate the appearance of our patient’s smiles to simulate what the results of a dental procedure might look like. Patients interested in whitening, porcelain veneers or replacing old discolored fillings can actually see the results rather than just trying to imagine them.
Air Abrasion in many situations can replace the use of a drill. It is often painless and may not require anesthesia. This means that under the right circumstances our patients do not have to endure a shot or listen to the whining of a dental drill.
