Our Dentist Office
A Welcome from Dr. Devaney – Oak Ridge NC Dentist
I want to thank you for your interest in DeVaney Dentistry and taking the time to browse our website. I want you to know that I have a true passion for what we do — the procedures and the customer service we provide. My job is to deliver beautiful, long-lasting, predictable dentistry in a comfortable manner. Just as importantly, my job is to promote a personal relationship between each of our patients and the professionals at DeVaney Dentistry. We have a very busy practice, largely because we strive to make you feel like you are the only patient in our office. Personalized customer service is the key to our success.
In 2000, I had a decision of where to start and grow a practice. In hindsight, I could not have made a better choice. I grew up in NW Guilford County and today it is an even better place to raise a family and have a career than it was when I was a child. I am blessed with the opportunity to live and work in NW Guilford County.
I graduated from UNC School of Dentistry in 1999, but that was only the beginning of my education. Other than getting to meet new people, the best part of my job is learning. I am proud to say that the dentistry I deliver today is entirely different that it was 10 years ago. I will try to summarize that evolution for you.
The first 10 years of my career was spent concentrating on cosmetic and complex restorative education done mostly at the Frank Spear Institute, recognized as the No. 1 source of advanced dental education by dentists. This culminated with the invitation to be a visiting faculty member at Spear, training with the elite dentists in the country. The last 8 years have shifted focus to dental surgery, including implant placement, gum graft surgery and impacted wisdom teeth removal. Sedation training has been a big part of this. Much of the surgical training was completed at the Triangle Dental Institute under founder Dr. Mark Hunt and Dr. David Simpson, former chairman of UNC Department of Periodontics. From 2015-2017, Dr. DeVaney’s training has been at the Pikos Institute to develop expertise in implants and implant-related grafting procedures. This background gives our patients the benefits of a unique blend of advanced cosmetics, complex restoration and surgical experience. Frankly, it is not something you will find at most dental offices.
Since I love to hear what is happening in our patients lives, I will depart by sharing a bit about myself. I have two wonderful children that my world outside of dentistry revolves around. We have a farm in Stokes county where we learn life’s lessons. Our summer vacation was spent in Yellowstone and Grand Tetons National parks. We highly recommend it.
I hope to see you soon.
